Rádio Cidade junta jornalistas para reflectirem sobre casamentos prematuros na IREX
MAPUTO, Moçambique, 25 de Fevereiro de 2016 – Ciente do poder de jornalistas na formação de opinião pública, o programa da Rádio Cidade, ''Caminhos Seguros'', foi, esta semana, gravado nos escritórios da IREX, para integrar a classe de comunicadores no combate a casamentos prematuros. Sob apresentação de André Manhiça, o debate centrou-se em aspectos de educação da rapariga; práticas sócio-culturais historicamente herdadas; o papel das igrejas e o contributo das rádios comunitárias na disseminação de informação útil às famílias e às comunidades. ''Os ritos devem permanecer porque são parte da cultura e, incluindoem grandes cidades, também se verifica. A questão essencial é como coexistirem sem fomentar casamentos prematuros'', disse Lázaro Bamo, do Centro de Apoio à Informação e Comunicação (CAICC), que esteve juntamente com Mwema Uaciquete, do Fórum da Sociedade Civil para os Direitos da Criança, como painelistas.Esta iniciativa surge no âmbito de uma campanha do Governo de Moçambique, que visa estimular a Educação e Empoderamento da Rapariga.Quinzenalmente, o ''Caminhos Seguros'' escala um ponto estratégico, para, das 16 às 18H, fazer uma emissão ao vivo, integrando diferentes actores e influenciadores de mudança. E como o casamento prematuro é um problema em que todos nós somos chamados a propor soluções, convidamos a si, jornalista que não teve possibilidade de estar presente no debate, a reflectir sobre a seguinte questão: - a problemática dos Casamentos Prematuros em Moçambique: Que futuro para as raparigas? - O Programa Para Fortalecimento da Mídia é financiado pelo Governo dos Estados Unidos da América, através da sua Agência para o Desenvolvimento Internacional, e implementado pela IREX.

Jornalistas consideram casamento prematuro um dos problemas graves de desenvolvimento humano, em Moçambique.
Numa recente conferência de imprensa com os jornalistas-estagiários do Media Lab, um programa de formação profissional para os jornalistas emergentes em Moçambique, a chefe da bancada da Renamo no parlamento, Ivone Soares, falou do papel dos jornalistas e da necessidade de manter um alto nível de integridade profissional. O ciclo de Conferências de Imprensa do Mídia Lab é um vento no qual os jornalistas-estagiários interagem com os jornalistas experientes, os actores políticos e do Governo, os partidários e os da sociedade civil, tendo como objectivo saber como funciona os seus sectores. O Media Lab é uma iniciativa do Programa Para Fortalecimento de mídia (MSP), que é financiado pelo Governo dos Estados Unidos, através da sua Agência para o Desenvolvimento Internacional (USAID), e implementado pelo IREX.

Yolanda Correia do UNICEF explica como a imprensa pode ajudar na promoção do bem-estar da criança
MAPUTO, Moçambique, 18 de Fevereiro de 2016 – Numa reunião com estagiários de jornalismo do Mídia Lab, decorrida na semana passada, Yolanda Correia, Oficial de Comunicação do UNICEF, explicou como a mídia pode ajudar a promover e defender os direitos das crianças. Correia falou sobre vários tópicos relacionados com as crianças, mas disse que a necessidade de superar a prática nociva de casamentos precoces era uma prioridade para o UNICEF, a mídia e o país no geral. A oficial defendeu que uma reforma adequada na Lei da Família (Lei 10/2004) seria um dos pilares para acelerar o combate aos casamentos prematuros em Moçambique. "A idade legal para o casamento é a partir dos 18 anos, entretanto, a lei autoriza os pais a decidirem que a criança se case aos 16, mas não aparece que a menor deve ser consultada", disse ensinando aos futuros jornalistas como alguns direitos das crianças estão a ser violados em Moçambique. A oficial informou ainda que a sua organização em colaboração com a sociedade civil e doadores, têm feito trabalho de advocacia junto ao Governo. "Há uma consciência por parte dos decisores sobre a importância de se resolver os problemas dos casamentos prematuros". Uma das acções-chave de acordo com Aida Nhavoto, jornalista-estagiária do Mídia Lab, é deixar a rapariga ir à escola. Nhavoto considera a educação a maior arma que a rapariga pode ter para se defender contra casamentos prematuros. Moçambique é apontado como o 10º país com maior prevalência de casamentos prematuros a nível global, segundo o Inquérito Demográfico de Saúde de 2011. Sobre a actual cobertura da criança na imprensa, Correia disse estar satisfeita, mas garantiu que ainda há muitos desafios por superar. ''O jornalista que escreve sobre economia, por exemplo, deve pensar sempre, durante as suas entrevistas, em como integrar ou fazer questões que suscitem reflexões no entrevistado, sobre os desafios da criança; o da política, idem'', disse, chamando isso de integração temática. O Programa Para Fortalecimento da Mídia é financiado pelo Governo dos Estados Unidos da América, através da sua Agência para o Desenvolvimento Internacional, e implementado pela IREX.

Conferência busca definir diferentes tipos de liderança para gestores de rádios
Maputo, Moçambique, 11 de Fevereiro de 2016 – Arrancou esta semana, em Nampula, a maior Conferência de Liderança para trinta gestores de rádios comunitárias (RCs) da região Norte, incluíndo a província da Zambézia. Trata-se de um evento que, também, inclui representantes do CAICC, ICS e USAID e que está a discutir a ligação entre liderança, recursos humanos, tecnologias de informação e comunicação e gestão financeira. ''Vou apostar na formação, no diálogo interno e no extremo aproveitamento das TIC's para dinamizar a rádio'', disse Sorudo Omar, coordenador da rádio Parapato (Angoche), que já está a identificar e definir os diferentes tipos de liderança; pensar em desenhar estratégias e um plano de gestão de recursos humanos; estratégias de gestão financeira; gestão de conflitos; aplicação dos recursos físicos e digitais sobre a temática de género e em desenvolver estratégias de captação e recrutamento de voluntários para a sua rádio. Já Stiven Mapira, da RC Cuamba, revelou que o facto de se converter num bom gestor vai lhe ajudar a apoiar as novas gerações a assumirem o relevo e continuidade de projectos. Para a consultora em recursos humanos, Ana Domingas, os gestores de rádios já têm um conhecimento sobre qual é a sua tarefa dentro da rádio. ''Isto vai lhes ajudar a estabelecerem as responsabilidades dos outros'', disse. A ideia da realização desta conferência surge no âmbito das visitas realizadas às emissoras radiofónicas, nas quais o MSP constatou fraquezas por parte de alguns gestores de recursos humanos e uma liderança não estratégica dos colaboradores. Maputo, Moçambique, 04 de Fevereiro de 2016 – ''Queríamos trazer um serviço essencialmente de interesse público, que desse voz às minorias, às vítimas de violação de direitos humanos e às camadas desfavorecidas'', disse Felismina Banze, jornalista da TV Surdo, que fez, juntamente com os colegas, uma reportagem sobre desafios da educação inclusiva. No lançamento do mini-telejornal, a convite da equipa de produção da TV Surdo e do MSP, um grupo de 30 surdos telespectadores participou na cerimónia e ficou bastante satisfeito pela iniciativa. "Meus parabéns aos colegas da TV Surdo, esta é uma iniciativa que nos vai ajudar a difundir informação para os deficientes auditivos; o vídeo foi bem produzido, apesar de algumas ressalvas", disse Inocêncio Zandamela, professor de língua de sinais nas escolas especiais. Para Hélio Munguambe, também telespectador surdo, a TV Surdo deve expandir a sua produção para as outras províncias e contribuir para a consolidação da língua de sinais em Moçambique. "Todos devemos usar os mesmos sinais, quer nas províncias como nas cidades". O mini-telejornal foi organizado em único bloco, com a apresentação de duas âncoras surdas e com reportagens diversas que tocam directamente a comunidade surda. O produto é resultado de um exercício de capacitação em telejornalismo a que a TV Surdo está submetida, apoiada fortemente pelo MSP, que promove a capacitação e inserção do grupo no mercado da mídia.
