IOM Mozambique Tropical Cyclone Freddy Situation Report #2 (21 March 2023)

On 11 March 2023, Cyclone Freddy made its second landfall in Zambezia province, Mozambique. Breaking longstanding records including longest surviving storm and highest accumulated cyclone energy, Freddy has caused widespread displacement and damages across Southern Africa past weeks.

 

Freddy’s impact as well as the previous flooding due to the rainy season are worsening the dire humanitarian situation in Mozambique. IOM has been on the ground supporting the emergency response.
